The Hamburger Taco

The hamburger taco is a simple snack that combines the deliciousness of a taco with the simple, sustenant substance of a hamburger. It’s cleaner and easier to make than a taco, but it essentially tastes like one.

What you need:

  • 1 small frying pan
  • 1 large frying pan
  • 1 quarter pound hamburger patty
  • 2 six inch corn tortillas
  • 4 oz shredded cheese (finely shredded works best)
  • 1 half fresh jalapeno, sliced
  • 1 half of another chili pepper of choice, sliced
  • Some slices of yellow or white onion
  • Some vegetable oil (maybe a teaspoon?)

Put some of the vegetable oil on your finger and coat one side of each corn tortilla (not both sides). Set these aside. Fry the hamburger patty the small pan until it is cooked as much as you like. Squish it down to flatten it if you can. Once the hamburger patty is done, set it aside on a plate or napkin. Heat up the big pan on medium high. Lay the corn tortillas in the big pan with the oiled sides down. Take about half the cheese on throw it on top of each tortilla let it melt. Place the cooked hamburger patty on one of the tortillas when the cheese has melted a bit. Add the sliced peppers and onion on top of the patty. Take the other cheesy tortilla and lay it on top of the patty. Flip it over a few times to make sure it cooks evenly. Try to crisp up the tortilla a bit but don’t burn it. Voila. Hamburger taco. Serve with salsa and beer.

Is it a taco? Is it a hamburger? It's a hamburger taco.
